Keck Medicine of USC Celebrates National Doctor’s Day – March 30

Have you thanked your doctor recently?
On March 30, Keck Medicine of USC will celebrate National Doctor’s Day, a special day dedicated to recognizing our physicians for their commitment and exceptional health care. The date was first observed in 1933 by Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, to express appreciation for the lifesaving work of doctors everywhere. In 1990, President George H. W. Bush recognized the numerous contributions of physicians by formally designating March 30th as National Doctor’s Day. The day is traditionally celebrated by sending a written expression of gratitude to a physician and also through the display of red carnations, the symbolic flower of Doctor’s Day.

Keck Medicine of USC is the University of Southern California’s medical enterprise. Encompassing academic, research and clinical excellence, Keck Medicine includes USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Keck Hospital of USC, USC Norris Cancer Hospital, USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, and the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

We invite all patients whose life has been touched by a dedicated doctor to pay tribute with a personal note of appreciation, along with a monetary gift to Keck Medicine of USC in their honor.

Your Doctor’s Day contribution and message is a caring way to express thanks to your doctor, while supporting the pioneering medical research and treatment that directly benefits you – our patient.

We will share your personal message with your honoree during a recognition breakfast on Doctor’s Day.
